The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) says no one was injured or killed when a fully loaded Dangote cement truck crashed into a BRT corridor at Demurin junction in Mile 12 area of the state.

LASTMA’s director of public relations and enlightenment, Adebayo Taofiq, said the speeding truck with failed brakes, veered into the BRT lane, and the driver fled the scene, fearing he had hit commuters.

“LASTMA’s rescue team quickly responded to the situation, with support from the Lagos Response Unit (LRU) and security assistance provided by officers from the Ketu Police Station,” he said.

Taofiq noted that Sola Giwa, special adviser to the governor on transportation, urged truck drivers to follow the speed limits displayed on road signs installed by the government.
