Governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, Otunba Peter Obafemi, has extended congratulations to party leaders and members following the successful ratification of the PDP Ward Congress held across the state.
In a statement issued by Director of the Media Office of Otunba Obafemi, Elder Idowu Adelusi, the ratification was described as “a significant milestone in our collective democratic journey,” laying what he called “a solid foundation for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the forthcoming Local Government Congress scheduled for Saturday, May 3rd.”
Obafemi praised the Ekiti State PDP Caretaker Committee led by Hon. Dare Adeleke for what he described as “transparent and diligent stewardship during this critical phase,” adding that the process has further strengthened the party’s internal democracy.
Reaffirming his commitment to the PDP, Obafemi said the party “remains the most viable and credible opposition party in Nigeria and particularly in Ekiti State,” describing it as “the party of hope, capable of restoring purposeful governance and ushering in the dividends of democracy that our people deserve.”
He also applauded the leadership of the PDP at the national and regional levels, noting that “we reaffirm our full confidence in the leadership of the National Working Committee (NWC), the strategic guidance of H.E. Governor Seyi Makinde, and the energetic contributions of H.E. Senator Governor Ademola Adeleke, in leading the South West PDP to reclaim its lost glory and return the region to the path of progress.”
As the party prepares for the next phase of congresses, Obafemi called on members to remain loyal and focused. “The journey to victory begins with discipline, loyalty, and undying belief in the PDP project,” he stated.
