The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has threatened to use the military in enforcing the arrest of the immediate past governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello.
The Federal High Court in Abuja had yesterday authorized the EFCC to apprehend Bello ahead of his expected court appearance today.
Addressing the Court, EFCC’s lawyer, Kemi Pinheiro (SAN) threatened to involve the military while accusing Bello’s successor, Usman Ododo of frustrating his client’s effort to execute the order.
Pinheiro argued that while Ododo had immunity, the residence he has opted to keep Bello had no such privileges.
He challenged Bello to come before the court and defend it here.
