The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, has hailed the performance of the 10th House in the first six months, stating that the legislative outputs are remarkable, receiving and considering 962 bills, 500 motions, and 153 petitions.
Speaking at the vacation session/plenary on the floor of the Chamber, Abbas commended his colleagues for availing Nigerians their expertise, noting that 120 bills have passed the second reading stage and currently undergoing further review and refinement to address some of the concerns raised during the debates.
He further noted that another 120 bills have been referred to committees for in-depth analysis, adding many other bills have been passed and transmitted to the Senate for concurrence.
According to him, all the bills are intended to provide immediate relief and long-term solutions to the challenges that have plagued Nigeria and to enhance social justice, promote economic growth, and promote peace and security.
