All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Anambra State, Valentine Ozigbo, has filed a lawsuit at the Federal High Court in Awka seeking to nullify the party’s April 5 primary election.
Ozigbo, who lost to Nicholas Ukachukwu by 1,455 votes to 67, alleged the exercise was marred by irregularities, including a “contrived delegate list” and lack of proper accreditation.
His suit names the APC, Ukachukwu, and INEC as defendants.
In a statement, Ozigbo accused Ukachukwu of ineligibility under party rules and condemned the primary as a “well-scripted illusion.”
The legal challenge comes amid mass resignations and defections within Anambra APC following the disputed poll.
No hearing date has been set. Ozigbo maintained the action will “fortify” the party’s integrity rather than fracture it.
