The Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa signed the 2025 state appropriation bill into law on Monday.
The development came barely a week after the State House of Assembly passed the sum of N698,659,496,000 budget into law for the 2025 fiscal year.
Out of the sum, a total of N265,037,496,000 was earmarked for recurrent expenditure, while N433,622,000,000 was allocated to capital expenditure.
At the signing ceremony held at the Exco Chamber of the Governor’s Office, Akure, the state capital, Aiyedatiwa described the 2025 budget tagged ‘Budget of Recovery,’ as a bold and strategic step towards rebuilding the state’s economy and addressing critical socio-economic challenges.
He stated, “This is a critical moment for our administration, one that marks a significant step towards fulfilling the promises we made to the people of Ondo State during the electioneering processes.
“We have deliberately allocated the higher percentage to capital development to jumpstart the economy and initiate massive infrastructural renewal across the state. The main objective of this budget is to make life easy for our people. This objective is sacrosanct and non-negotiable.
