*Wigwe University Matriculates 120 students* I have just received my invitation to the historic Matriculation ceremony of the world class Wigwe University coming up tomorrow 12th November, 2024.The first thing that hit me after reading the letter signed by its acting Vice Chancellor Mr. M. Al-Akaidi was the seeming continuity the young institution has achieved despite the unfortunate passing of its main promoter and financier Herbert Wigwe.Prof Al-Akaidi had spoken very eloquently about Herberts vision for the school at my Play – Gowon last August. He enunciated Herberts vision of driving and empowering a new crop of leaders using entrepreneurship, technology, innovation and impact as main vehicles of delivery in a speech which was well received by the audience. It is however to the huge testament of Herbert’s visionary engagement that his dream continues at this planned trajectory even at his absence.Thru class faculty, globally sanctioned academic processes and transformative initiatives, Wigwe University is expected to churn out world leaders and fearless go getters who will join the new rank of leaders gradually transforming our socio political landscape.Sadly, I would not make the ceremony cos im out of the country, but I would still like to mention and very succinctly too that tomorrow will mark the very begining of an obsession with Nigeria fired by the dreams and passion of one man who God dropped on earth and in Nigeria for this very purpose.Let me seize this opportunity to charge the 120 Young students to see themselves like the seven Argonauts Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe took to america for the sole purpose of equiping them with leadership and administrative prowess and who came back after their education to build the country with him berthing the workd famous University of Nigeria Nsukka amongst other major develoomental initiatives. All 120 of you are Herbert’s latter day Argonauts. You would all be equipoed in the very best of academic infrastructure Africa can afford anfd comparable to and also linked to the very best in the world and as such, much will be expected of you post qualification as Nigeria eagerly await your input on our growth plans.Let me congratulate the team at the How Foundation and Wigwe University for their relentless hard work and untiring believe in the vision of Herbert as you ring this bell tomorrow in the sleepy but very scenic town called Isiokpo.Welldone and congrats *Duke of Shomolu*
