The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, wants the newly appointed ministers to prioritise national unity and public welfare over personal or sectional interests.
Speaking at the start of a two-day induction retreat in Abuja, Akume underscored that minister are entrusted with advancing President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, which focuses on stability, economic growth, and development.
He said it was important that the Ministers work cohesively as a team and take advantage of the retreat for knowledge-sharing, strategic planning and alignment with the federal government’s priorities and aspirations.
“As ministers in your respective ministries, the president has entrusted you with the mandate of driving the administration’s renewed hope agenda for development, stability, and growth in your sector.
“This induction retreat is designed to equip you with the insights, tools, and guidance necessary for effective performance in your new roles.
Reacting on behalf of others, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Nentawe Yilwada, pledged his commitment to reducing poverty, especially by addressing the needs of out-of-school children through partnerships with the Ministry of Education.
