Ukraine has banned the use of Telegram on official devices for government officials, military personnel, and critical workers to safeguard national security.
The decision follows warnings from Ukraine’s GUR military intelligence agency, which claims Russian special services can spy on users and access their messages through the app.
The National Security and Defence Council announced the ban, citing concerns over Russian espionage, though personal devices remain unaffected.
Telegram, widely used in both Ukraine and Russia, has been a vital communication tool since the war began.
Telegram’s founder, Russian-born Pavel Durov, has faced scrutiny, though the app denies any data-sharing with governments, including Russia.
