Today is a somber day for fans, colleagues, and loved ones of the late veteran Nollywood actor, John Okafor, also known as Mr Ibu, as he is laid to rest in his hometown of Amuri, Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.
The actor died on March 2, 2024, after a prolonged sickness.
A night of tribute was held on Wednesday, where fellow actors and admirers from the industry gathered to honor the late actor.
Mr Ibu was renowned for his comedic talent and unforgettable roles, and his demise triggered an overwhelming display of grief, as attendees reflected on Mr Ibu’s legacy and the profound impact he had on the industry and the lives of those who knew him.
The burial was attended by high profile guests such as 2023 Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi as well as Ibu’s colleagues such Patience Ozonkwo among others.
