Super Eagles of Nigeria’s head coach, Finidi George, unveiled his assistant coaches, nearly a month after assuming the coaching role.

Finidi George retained Super Eagles goalkeeper coach, Olatunji Baruwa, who previously served in the same capacity under Jose Peseiro. Additionally, he appointed his former national teammate, Daniel Amokachi, as his assistant coach.

Furthermore, Finidi has selected two foreign coaches to assist him with the Super Eagles job, with their names set to be announced prior to the team’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa on June 3.

Finidi was appointed as the coach of the Super Eagles in April, approximately two months after Jose Peseiro’s contract expired on February 29.

Initially, it seemed that Finidi would juggle his duties at Enyimba while also serving as the head coach of the Super Eagles, similar to his role as assistant coach to Jose Peseiro.

However, the former Ajax player has now parted ways with Enyimba to focus solely on his national team coaching responsibilities.
