A Chief Magistrate Court in Ado Ekiti has remanded two persons, Kayode Seun and Godwin Festus at the Nigerian Correctional Centre, Ado Ekiti for conspiracy, fraud, cyber crime and bribing police officers.
According to the charge sheet, the duo were caught in possession of one Mercedez Benz CLA car reasonably suspected to have been stolen and offered bribe of N485,000 to Police Officers on 22nd of April, 2024 in Ikere Ekiti within Ikere Ekiti Magisterial District.
Counsel to the defendants, Iyanu Olumuagun who had earlier stood for the defendants, however, withdrew her appearance without giving reasons.
Subsequently, Magistrate A.O. Owoleso having listened to the counsel ordered that a hearing notice be served on the defendants through the officers of the Nigeria Correctional Centre, Ado Ekiti.
The case has been adjourned till 6th day of June, 2024 for mention.
