The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has restated its warning to mass transit bus drivers/Owners against contravening traffic laws as it would not compromise any form of illegality.
The General Manager of LASTMA, Olalekan Bakare-Oki disclosed this on Wednesday during a courtesy visit by Operators of Federal Mass Transit Buses to his Office at Oshodi, Lagos.
He stated that the Agency would not compromise any form of illegality by bus or private cars drivers parking indiscriminately on roadside, Kerbs, Walkways, setbacks thereby obstructing the free movement of vehicles including other road users.
Earlier in his address the Chairman of Operators (Drivers/Owners of Federal Mass Transit buses Abed Achewa and his team acknowledged the importance of LASTMA Officers in improving travel time and ensuring free flow of traffic on Lagos roads.
He however confirmed that the association have commenced proper enlightenment campaign on the need for members to comply with the directive of the Government as enshrined into the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law 2018.
