The house of representatives has again debunked reports from some vice chancellors and top officials in some Nigerian universities, accusing the adhoc committee probing job racketeering in the education sector of corruption and unwholesome practices.
Deputy chairman, house committee on media and public affairs, Philip Agbese speaking during an interview expressed dismay at what he termed ignorance and malicious agenda peddled by persons behind such allegations.
Agbese said the lawmakers had petitioned the Independent corrupt practices and other related offences commission to probe the adhoc committee, in an attempt to clear its name of the allegations, noting that the house will step aside and allow ICPC investigate.
Some vice chancellors accused the adhoc committee of receiving funds as bribe to cover the tracks of guilty persons which the house vehemently denied.
