JUSTICE BULKACHUWA: I NEVER COMPROMISED OATH OF OFFICE
Former President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa says she never compromised her oath of office to favour any party throughout her 40-year judicial career.
She says her decisions as a judge are always based on fact, the law and in accordance with her conscience and oath of office.
This submission is contained in a statement signed by her, this coming on the heels of a controversial statement by her husband Senator Bulkachuwa to the effect that he prevailed on her to bend the rules a bit in favour of his fellow senators.
The said statement made during the valedictory session of the ninth Senate has attracted criticisms from prominent individuals, some of whom have called for his investigation.
Retired Justice Bulkachuwa says she, during her time as Appeal Court president, never interfered with the independence of any of the justices of the Court in the discharge of their judicial functions.
