PETER OBI TENDERS IREV REPORTS AT PEPC
Peter Obi of the Labour Party has tendered the report of the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV) at the Presidential Election Petition Court.
This is perhaps the basis of Mr Obi’s petition which is challenging the victory of Bola Tinubu at the Presidential polls on account of the failure of electoral body, INEC to upload in real-time the results unto the IReV.
Peter Obi, the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, states in his petition that INEC acted in breach of the Electoral Act and its own regulations by not uploading the results, with INEC citing internet glitch as the reason.
At the resumed hearing, Tuesday, the Labour Party through its team of lawyers tendered the IReV report for Adamawa, Ogun, Ekiti, Rivers, and Akwa Ibom states.
And INEC, Bola Tinubu, Kashim and the APC through their lawyers objected to the documents being used as evidence by Peter Obi of the Labour Party.
The Justice Haruna Tsammani-led five-member panel adjourned hearing of the petition to Wednesday 14 June for continuation.
