DEBT PROFILE JUSTIFIABLE SAYS BUHARI


President Muhammadu Buhari has defended the debt profile of his administration, emphasizing that the investments made in infrastructure are a deliberate choice to drive economic growth and prosperity.
This statement was made during the virtual commissioning of key projects, including the long-awaited Second Niger Bridge and three Federal Secretariats.
President Buhari highlighted that the debts incurred were tied to projects executed transparently, with visible results for all Nigerians to see. He urged the public to not only focus on the debt profile but also consider the assets and investment profiles created through these investments.
He adds that over the past eight years, Nigeria’s stock of infrastructure to GDP ratio has doubled from approximately 20% to over 40%, showcasing the significant progress made by his administration.
