The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) National President, Emeka Orji insists its 200% pay rise demand is not outrageous and will not take the 25 percent offered by the Federal Government.
In a televised interview, Orji who noted that the demanded allowances were affordable, wondered how the federal government expected doctors to continue to survive with rising inflation and attendant economic shocks without a salary review since 2014.
Recall, NARD threatened to proceed on nationwide strike at the expiration of a two week ultimatum to the federal government to implement all pending agreements.
But the government described the demand of the doctors as ridiculous.
