LASTMA Confirms Death of One Driver in BRT-Bus Crash

Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, (LASTMA), has confirmed the death of an unnamed commercial bus driver after his bus collided with a government-owned Bus Rapid Transit vehicle (BRT) along Ifako Bridge inward Ogudu on the Oworonshoki Expressway in Lagos.

According to Spokesman of the Agency, Taofiq Adebayo, Seven passengers were rescued with various degrees of injuries and taken to an undisclosed hospital.

It was gathered that the fully loaded commercial bus was coming from Lagos Island and heading to Ogudu when the accident occurred.

Adebayo however lamented that despite the presence of emergency responders, some hoodlums on seeing the dead commercial driver, set ablaze the BRT bus which compounded the traffic situation in the axis.

The General Manager of LASTMA, Bolaji Oreagba however warned members of the public particularly street urchins not to take laws into their hands at any accident scene but to allow appropriate authorities to do the needful.
