The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dunameme Dekor and Blessing Amadi winner of the polls in Khana/Gokana and Port Harcourt Federal Constituencies.
INEC had announced the winners of the supplementary election after the collation of results were concluded for Sorgho and Bangha communities in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State and PHALGHA 2.
Recall that the All Progressives Congress candidate for PHALGHA 2, Collins Owhondah had withdrawn from the race, less than 24 hours before the election and announced his defection to the PDP.
Owhondah cited the lack of focus, seriousness, and insensitivity of APC leadership in the state as reasons for dumping the party, saying, “The APC is never ready to win elections in Rivers State.”
