The Police Service Commission (PSC) has instituted a panel to investigate the alleged $10, 000 promotion bribery scandal.
The commission’s Spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani said the panel was set up following a publication by a national outlet referencing some aggrieved Officers of the Nigeria Police Force who claimed the Commission gave special promotions to junior Officers above senior ones after allegedly collecting bribe of a sum of $10,000.
The Commission, while denying the claims made it clear that it had no plan to do so, especially at this time when a deliberate effort is being made to reposition and reinvigorate the Nigeria Police Force, especially with the assumption of duty of Solomon Arase as Chairman of the Commission.
The source of the claim in the story identified as Chijioke Okonkwo had urged the Presidency to probe the corrupt practices in the Police Force.
