The All Progressives Congress in Rivers has suspended the state Chairman, Emeka Beke, and the Legal Adviser, Iheanyichukwu Azubuike, over alleged anti-party activities and financial misconduct.

Also, the SEC dissociated itself from the comments allegedly made by the former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, that the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, singlehandedly nominated Prof Mahmood Yakubu as the Independent National Electoral Commission Chairman.

One of the leaders of the party’s executive committee in the state, Chike Eyinda who addressed newsmen, accused Amaechi of not working for the APC during the 2023 elections, amid other activities culminating in the party’s dismal outing in the just concluded general election.

While lamenting the party’s woes in the state since 2015, Eyinda further claimed that Beke spent funds released for the 2023 elections with his cronies without the consent and approval of any member of the executive working committee as prescribed by the party’s constitution.
