The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State has dismissed reports of the alleged expulsion of its governorship candidate, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, by a faction of the party in the State.

The APC said the alleged expulsion of Omo-Agege is the handiwork of mischief makers.

Delta State APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie and Secretary, Peter Akarogbe made the call in a statement made available on Monday, noting, “We, the legitimate and only recognised State Executive Committee of the Party, at the National Headquarters, in consultations with all other levels in the chain, hereby disclaim the publication as fraudulent, a ruse and of no consequence.

Recall a faction of the APC led by Ulebor Isaac, expelled the Deputy President of the Senate, Omo-Agege, from the party over alleged anti-party activities and other offences.

The Deputy Senate President has been the subject of several accusations by chieftains of the party who claim that Omo-Agege did not work to garner votes for the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, rather for himself.
