Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state has won election for a second term of four years.
Results announced by Returning Officer for the elections showed that Abiodun polled 276,298 to defeat his closest rivals — Ladi Adebutu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 262,383 as well as Biyi Otegbeye of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) who got 94,754.
While Otegbeye was backed by former governor and serving APC senator, Ibikunle Amosun, another ally of the latter who contested in the last election, Adekunle Akinlade was running mate to Adebutu.
