The Rivers State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the abduction of the Accord Party’s House of Assembly Candidate for Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Constituency 2, in the state, Chukwudi Ogbonna.
Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, said the police is aware of the development and investigation has commenced to ensure that he regains freedom.
Ogbonna was whisked away by unidentified criminals while returning to his house around Rumuigbo Area of Port Harcourt last night.
A cousin of the victim, Ifeakachukwu Nwakiri, said the kidnap was politically-motivated.
