The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Adamu says the party’s candidate in the recently concluded presidential election, Bola Tinubu, is indeed the people’s clear choice.
Addressing a news conference, Adamu said the party was grateful to those who voted for the party’s candidate.
The APC chairman also applauded president Buhari for standing by the party and its candidate and extended an olive branch to all presidential candidates who lost the polls.
Adamu asked Nigerians to rise up against those calling for the cancellation of the election and urged all aggrieved persons to seek legal redress, adding that the call for the cancellation of the election is an attempt to set the nation on fire
“Their protest walk out from the collation centre was childish but clearly a calculated attempt to rubbish the elections and impugn the integrity of the electoral umpire,” Adamu said.
“Their call for the cancellation of the elections over their unproven allegations of electoral fraud must be the height of diabolical desperation.
“All patriotic citizens of this country who value peace and unity of purpose must rise with one voice to condemn these elements who want to parade themselves in the public space as the guardians of our electoral system.
“Aided by some self-appointed guardians of our nation’s conscience, they wanted to turn the victory of our party into ashes in the mouths of all Nigerians and set the country up for global opprobrium.”
Adamu said nothing in the constitution gives the PDP and LP the right to abort the will of Nigerians.
