The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced the suspension of its train services across major routes between Saturday 25th and Monday 27th in view of the general elections in the country.

The board and management of the corporation in an electronic statement signed by the NRC deputy director, Public Relations, Yakub Mahmood, said the decision is to enable Nigerians  exercise their civil responsibilities.

The terse statement reads: “These train services include; Abuja – Kaduna Train Service (AKTS), Warri – Itakpe Train Service (WITS), Lagos – Ibadan Train Service (LITS), and Iddo Lagos – Ijoko interstate Mass Transit passengers’ train services.”

It said: “However, the management assures the general public of the normal train services recommencement on Tuesday 28 February, 2023.”
