The Independent National Electoral Commission has expressed concerns over the continued scarcity of fuel across the country, saying the development could hamper election day logistics.
The Chairman of the Commission, Mahmood Yakubu said the Commission would meet with the management of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, to look into ways of ameliorating the situation.
Yakubu also said the commission will meet with the union of transporters to conclude modalities for the certification of vehicles by the Federal Road Safety Corps, to ensure the safety of election personnel and materials.
According to him, the issue of logistics has been a perennial problem in election administration in Nigeria, promising that the commission will collaborate with necessary agencies to tackle prospective challenges.
