The Zamfara State Police Command has arrested eight suspects for banditry-related offences, criminal conspiracy, robbery and fraud.

According to the Police Spokesperson, SP Muhammad Shehu, the command also recovered 15 local firearms, 146 rounds of ak47 ammunition, dried leafs suspected to be indian hemp and N1 million cash as exhibits.

Shehu added that the arrests followed confidence-building patrol by operatives along Munhaye forest in Tsafe Local Government Area.

The Police Spokesman said some of the suspects confessed to giving information to bandits, supplying them with drugs and involvement in kidnapping and banditry.

He said they would be charged to court as soon as investigation is complete.
