Nigeria Customs Service, Apapa Area Command, on Thursday revealed that it generated revenue worth N1.02 trillion between January to December 2022.

Speaking to journalists in Apapa, the Customs Area Controller in charge of the command, Comptroller Malanta Yusuf, said the figure is 16 per cent higher when compared to N870 billion collected by the command in the previous year 2021.

He also said that N28.2bn commodities were exported through the command within the period under review.

Yusuf said in 2022, the command recorded a total of $68.5m free on board export consignments including steel bars, agricultural produce such as hibiscus, sesame, cocoa, cashew nuts, ginger, soya beans and mineral products.
