Former Director-General of the Peter Obi, Datti Presidential Campaign Council, Doyin Okupe has been released after he was arrested earlier today by the Department of State Services, DSS.
Okupe was initially arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos while on his way to London.
In a terse statement, the DSS said politician was arrested on the request of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and has been handed over to the anti graft agency
But slight over an hour after, Okupe tweeted that he had been released.
”I was arrested & detained @ the MM int airport, Lagos this morning 12th Jan on my way to UK for medical, yrs of my passport being withheld by the FHC Abuja,” he said.
”I have just left the EFCC office where senior officers in lagos or Abuja apologised to me for the error. OCCUPATIONAL HAZARD abi?”
