The Lagos state government says investigation into the alleged violation of the Supreme Court judgement by a school principal who reportedly removed hijab from the head of a schoolgirl has commenced.

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) recently raised concerns about the forceful removal of the hijab from the head of a female student by principal of Eletu Odibo Junior High School, Abule-Oja, Yaba, Christiana Sofuye.

Consequently, the Permanent Secretary Education district IV, Olawale Osinaike said the state government ordered a recall of the principal and teachers involved while investigation is ongoing.

Olawale added that the state government will not tolerate such violation of matters already settled in court.
