The newly inaugurated Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has ordered the reversal of the name of the state from ‘State of Osun’ to ‘Osun State’.

This is as he said ‘State of Osun’ is unconstitutional.

In his inaugural speech, Adeleke said all the government correspondences and insignia must now carry the old name, Osun State.

Adeleke alleged that the former governor of the state, Adegboyega Oyetola, carried out some malicious actions after he lost the July 16 governorship election, stressing that the actions are to make things difficult for his new administration.

Adeleke also said Mass employment were carried out without budgetary provisions for salary payments for the new employees, even as the state struggles to pay salaries, adding that everything would now be reviewed.
