The Ekiti State House of Assembly has suspended 7 lawmakers over alleged moves to impeach the new speaker, Gboyega Aribisogan.

In an exclusive interview, the speaker described the moves by the lawmakers as illegality, accusing the police command of conniving with the lawmakers to carry out the act.

Aribisogan listed the suspended Lawmakers as; Jamiu Akeem, Aribasoye Adeoye, Bode Adeoye, Lateef Akanle, Lucas Toyin, Deji Ajayi, and Demola Ojo.

He maintained that the suspended Lawmakers collaborated with the police to intimidate the clerk of the house to execute the illegal impeachment.

Aribisogan added that the suspended Lawmakers recruited unknown people to constitute a quorum to impeach him, insisting that it will not fly.
