The Ekiti State House of Assembly Complex was on Tuesday closed to lawmakers and staff over unfavourable security reports.
This is happening 24 hours after Hon. Gboyega Aribisogan was elected as new Speaker following the demise of Rt. Hon. Funminiyi Afuye last month.
Sources within the complex say workers were asked to exit the Assembly premises following reports that political thugs had assembled to attack the premises.
Although it is uncertain why such an attack may have been planned, VeoNewsng learnt that the new Speaker, Aribisogan is currently meeting the State Commissioner of Police, Moronkeji Adesina.
Recall that Aribisogan on Tuesday polled 15 votes to defeat a close ally of former Governor, Kayode Fayemi, Hon. Bunmi Adelugba who scored 10 votes.
