Honourable Gboyega Aribisogan has been elected as the new Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly.
Aribisogan who represents Ikole Constituecy 1 succeeds Rt Hon. Funminiyi Afuye who passed on last month.
The new Speaker defeated Chief Whip of the Assembly, Hon. Bunmi Adelugba from Emure by 15 to 10 votes to emerge winner.
He has been sworn in.
