The Chief Justice of Osun State, Justice Oyebola Ojo has granted prosecution an amended charge of murder against hotel owner, Dr Rahmon Adedoyin and six staff over the mysterious death of a Master Student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Timothy Adegoke.

Adedoyin, his staff; Magdalene Chiefuna, Adeniyi Aderogba, Oluwole Florence, Oyetunde Kazeem, Adebayo Kunle and Adedeji Adesola were on March 3, 2022 arraigned by Police before the court on 11-count but Adedoyin was not charged for murder while his workers were.

Femi Falana, SAN, who later took over the prosecution applied to amend the charge which was opposed to by the counsel of the defendants during the hearing.

At the sitting on Monday, Justice Ojo ruled that the charge should be amended in line with the application of the prosecuting counsel.

The 18-count charge was read to Adedoyin and his six staff and they all pleaded not guilty to the murder charge and other offenses preferred against them.

Counsel to Adedoyin, Kehinde Eleja, informed the court that his client will call a witness in the next seven days. Other counsel informed the court to recall witnesses.
