The National Executive Council of the Academic Staff Union of Universities is currently meeting over the decision of the Federal Government to only pay lecturers half salary for the month of October, 2022.
VeoNewsng gathered that the meeting started around 12:40 pm on Monday afternoon.
The Union summoned the meeting following the payment of “half salaries” to lecturers by the government.
While the leadership of the Union insisted that the payment was insensitive the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, noted that the government paid the lecturers pro-rata.
