U 17 WWCup: Nigeria’s Flamingos Reach Semi Finals

Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos have qualified for the Semi-finals after defeating the USA in the quarter-finals of the ongoing India 2022 U-17 Women’s World Cup.

The Flamingos won 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes of regulation time.

When the game commenced, the Nigerian side opened scoring in the 26th minute after Onamuzo Edafe slotted in a penalty courtesy of a foul on Amina Bello.

The Americans equalized in the 40th minute through Amalia Martina’s strike.

Nigeria will now play the winner of the game (holding on Saturday) between Colombia and Tanzania on Wednesday, October 26th, 2022.
