A Federal High Court in Lagos has granted a former Attorney-General of the State, Olasupo Shashore, N50 million bail with one surety in like sum.
Shasore who also served as Commissioner of Justice under former governor, Babatunde Fashola was dragged before the court on a four-count charge bordering on money laundering.
According to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, the former Commissioner attempted to induce one Olufolakemi Adetore to accept cash payment without going through a financial institution.
But Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke agreed to grant Shasore bail as requested by his counsel who argued that an investigation of the matter had been on for the past three years, adding that the defendant is not a flight risk
The Judge adjourned the case until Nov. 24 for trial.
