Kogi State Government has appealed to the federal government, international donors and well-spirited individuals to come to the aid of the state amidst the devastating effects of recent floods.
Lamenting that 10 local government areas have been submerged by the floods, Kogi Commissioner for Environment, Victor Omofaye, said the state alone cannot manage the situation left behind by the flood
Omofaye also beckoned on the federal government to dredge the Lokoja river and other rivers in the state so as to reduce the effects of the flood in the future.
He then blamed climate change for the incessant floods, saying more will still come in subsequent years.
