The Katsina State House of Assembly has confirmed the death of member representing Bakori Local Government Area, Dr. Ibrahim Kurami.
Kurami died in Saudi Arabia at about 2 am (Nigerian time) on Monday while on lesser Hajj (Umrah) and was buried in Medina, same day.
His death was confirmed by The Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Ali Al-Baba.
Although Al-Baba, who represents Katsina Constituency in the House did not give details surrounding Kurami’s death, he said he and other lawmakers would pay a condolence visit to the hometown (Kurami) and the Bakori constituency of the late lawmaker after their ongoing workshop in Kano.
Kurami was an All Progressives Congress lawmaker who also won the last primary to represent the constituency under the platform of the party in the 2023 forthcoming general election.
He is survived by two wives, 11 children and three grandchildren.
