President Muhammadu Buhari met with the 23 liberated passengers of the Abuja-Kaduna train incident on March 28, 2022, at the hospital of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in Kaduna.
According to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, Buhari made an impromptu visit to the hospital to see the victims of the train attack after commissioning Cadets of the 69 Regular Course (Army, Navy, and Air Force) of the Nigerian Defense Academy in Afaka, Kaduna State.
Before boarding NAF 001 back to Abuja from Kaduna International Airport, Buhari made a diversion to the hospital, where he commended the Nigerian military for their valiant efforts in ensuring the safe release of captives from Boko Haram terrorists.
At the hospital were members of the Chief of Defence Staff Action Committee, commanded by Major-General Usman Abdulkadir (Retired), who assisted the release of the prisoners.
