The Federal Government is considering using private sector funds through Public Private Partnerships as a funding option for certain key projects in the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology.
This was disclosed when the Director General of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission, Dr Jobson Ewalefoh, paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Mr Uche Nnaji.
A statement signed by the acting Head of Media and Publicity, Ifeanyi Nwoko, stated, on Thursday says the meeting which was at the instance of the ICRC DG, sought a partnership between the two government bodies to harness PPPs to advance critical projects.
Speaking during the meeting, Ewalefoh said that science and technology, if properly deployed, can serve as a key driver of the economic growth and progress of Nigeria.
