The Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) has launched the pilot operations of the 40-passenger Omibus ferries in Lagos.
Built by Caverton Marine Limited in partnership with the Lagos State Government, the pilot scheme is supported by the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation.
LASWA announced the week-long pilot programme on its social media, aiming to revolutionize waterway commuting in the state.
The Omibus ferries will undergo a week-long test focusing on data collection and public awareness about the future of waterway transportation.
During this period, the ferries will operate on three key routes, with one round trip per day on each route.
Prospective Passengers are expected to use their Cowry cards to board.
