
The United Arab Emirates has lifted the visa ban placed on Nigerian travellers following a meeting between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his UAE Counterpart, Mohamed bin Al Nahyan, in Abu Dhabi.
Both leaders also agreed to let both Etihad Airlines and Emirates Airlines resume flight schedules into and out of Nigeria immediately without any immediate payment by the Nigerian government.
A statement by Presidential Media Aide, Ajuri Ngelale indicated that a new foreign exchange liquidity programme was agreed between the two Governments, which will be announced in detail in the coming weeks.
The statement added that Bin Al Nahyan, in recognition of Tinubu’s economic policies agreed to channel several billions of U.S. dollars worth of new investments into the Nigerian economy across multiple sectors, including defense, agriculture and others, by the investment arms of the Government of the United Arab Emirates.
