The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Ibok-Ete Ibas, has failed to appear before the House of Representatives Ad-Hoc Committee on Rivers State Oversight for a second time.
Despite being in Abuja for the National Economic Council meeting at the Presidential Villa, Ibas did not attend today’s rescheduled session.
The committee, chaired by Majority Leader, Julius Ihonvbere, had initially postponed the meeting at Ibas’s request and rescheduled it for April 24, 2025.
When approached by journalists after the no-show, Rep. Ihonvbere responded only with “No comment.”
The committee, which was inaugurated on April 15 by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, was meant to discuss developments in Rivers State under Ibas’s administration.
It remains unclear whether an invitation was formally acknowledged with the meeting now postponed indefinitely.
