Zamalek supporters have called for the immediate dismissal of head coach Jose Peseiro following the club’s elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup.

The defending champions crashed out of the competition on Wednesday after a shock 1-0 home defeat to South African side Stellenbosch.

After securing a goalless draw in Cape Town in the first leg of their quarter-final tie, Zamalek appeared to have the advantage heading into the return fixture. However, Sihle Nduli scored the decisive goal for the visitors just 11 minutes from full time.

Peseiro, 65, was only appointed as Zamalek’s head coach in February, securing five wins, six draws and two defeats in 13 matches across all competitions.
