The Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, has fined Shooting Stars N5 million and banned supporters from attending home games following violent incidents during their Matchday 32 fixture against Ikorodu City at Lekan Salami Stadium.

The league found the Ibadan-based club guilty of three violations: failure to provide adequate security, poor control of supporters that led to attacks on opponents, and permitting spectators to throw objects onto the pitch.

The disciplinary measures come after fans allegedly held Ikorodu City players hostage and vandalised their team bus following Sunday’s match.

Citing Rule C9 of NPFL regulations, league authorities gave Shooting Stars 48 hours to either accept the sanctions or appeal the decision. The supporter ban will remain in place indefinitely as part of the punitive measures.
