The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, has issued a stern warning to international airlines against transporting passengers halfway before deporting them due to visa issues.
The NCAA’s Director of Consumer Protection and Public Affairs, Michael Achimugu announced this in a statement issued today.
Achimugu described the practice as completely unacceptable as it causes distress and damages Nigeria’s aviation reputation.
Noting that new enforcement measures would take immediate effect, the NCAA stressed airlines must verify travel documents of passengers before boarding or face penalties including fines and flight suspensions for violators.
